Making Tax Digital
Ready for MTD for VAT and Income Tax
VAT-registered businesses must already keep digital records and file VAT returns through compatible software. We keep your VAT records in MTD-ready software so returns are quick and accurate.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax started on 6 April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000. The threshold drops to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028, and those affected must send HMRC quarterly updates.
If you are in scope, we keep your digital records current every quarter so your updates are ready on time.

FAQs
Bookkeeping and payroll questions
Do you prepare statutory accounts and tax returns?
Our service covers bookkeeping and payroll. We prepare a reconciled year-end pack for your accountant, who prepares your statutory accounts and tax returns. If you need an accountant, we can introduce you to one.
Which accounting software do you use?
We work in Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage and FreeAgent. If you are not using cloud software yet, we will recommend one and set it up for you.
How do I send you receipts and invoices?
Through your accounting software's receipt capture app, by email, or through a shared folder. We will agree the simplest method for you at the start.
Can you take over from my current bookkeeper?
Yes. We handle the handover, review the records for gaps and bring everything up to date before monthly work begins.
Can you catch up on months of missing bookkeeping?
Yes. We quote a one-off fee to bring your books up to date, then move you onto the regular monthly service.
Is my data secure?
We access your records only through your own software with individual logins, follow UK GDPR, and sign a data processing agreement with every client.
